About Us

• The Yukon Wildlife Preserve Operating Society is a not-for-profit society with charitable status and wide community membership. Its mandate is to manage and operate the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. It is led by an annually elected volunteer Board of Directors.

• The Yukon Wildlife Preserve Operating Society operates as an autonomous non-government organization. Our Education and research programs are supported by fundraising, corporate partnerships, donations, Yukon Department of Environment and Yukon Department of Education; as well as revenues from visitors and commercial photographers. 

• The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is owned by the Yukon Territorial Government. Current funding is primarily through a contribution agreement with the Yukon Department of Environment. This contribution covers general operating costs. 
• The success of the Yukon Wildlife Preserve reflects the strong partnership between the Yukon Territorial Government and the Yukon Wildlife Preserve Operating Society. The two parties will continue to work together to honour the operating agreement between them and to chart a course for the future.
