Grade 6 - Animal Adaptations

The Animal Adaptations Program teaches students about the importance of habitat and how northern animals have adapted to cope with the unique environment of the north.

Following an interactive tour, activity stations focus on adaptations to the environment. An outdoor game looks at the importance of habitat. A field study of caribou identifies different types of adaptation. A look at polar bears in captivity encourages creative thinking about adaptations. The final station investigates how humans have adapted by copying nature.
