Wildlife Drawing With Avery at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve

June 14th, Sunday. 2pm

Join Avery, Wildlife Interpreter and Freelance Artist, for this very special second art event at the Preserve.

  • Participants will be introduced to artistic field notes and nature drawing as tools for close ecological observation.
  • Together we practice slowing down, sketching, recording questions, and noticing patterns in the surrounding landscape.
  • Avery will demonstrate how to document animals, plants, and uncertainty directly in our sketchbooks. Participants will experiment by developing a visual study based on what they’ve learned and observed during their visit.
  • 2 hours walking around the lower loop of the Preserve - guided by the sights and inspiration found through your time at the Preserve
  • We will finish our drawings in the cozy warming tent at the end of the walk with complimentary tea provided.
  • Art supplies provided including paper, pens, markers, pencil crayons and clipboard - feel free to bring your own favourite drawing tools and sketchbook. If you need supplies please ensure to add-on the supplies kit cost upon registration
  • Only 20 spaces available - registration required. Registration open until 1Pm on Sunday June 14th
